It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Philip Eastman of Rochester, Minnesota, born in Dodge Center, Minnesota, who passed away on February 11, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hall Eastman and Harriet Eastman (Salmon); his wife Gayle Samuelson; and his brother John Eastman. He is survived by: his daughter Deborah Eastman; his grandchildren, Ariadne Skoufos (Jack Usher), Shane Eastman-Grossel and Zoe Eastman-Grossel; and his siblings, Sheila Kahlert (Jerry), Gerald Eastman, Alan Eastman (Mary Lou) and Robert Eastman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Arbor Day Foundation, the World Wildlife Foundation, or the Southern Poverty Law Center.
