He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Gilligan and Frieda Gilligan; and his brother Patrick Gilligan. He is survived by: his brother Franklin Gilligan of Bloomington, MN; and his nieces and nephews, Debbie Windschitl of Bloomington, MN, Ann DeBates [Brian] of Chandler, AZ, Christine Schammel [David] (Brian Gilligan [Katherine]) of Greenville, SC, Kevin Gilligan [Marci] of Scottsdale, AZ and Kim Schiller [Mike] (Cindy Eknes [Bret]) of Prior Lake, MN.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 6:15 PM to 6:30 PM at the Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN 55901). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Pius X Catholic Church (1315 12th Ave NW, Rochester, MN 55901).
Memorials are preferred to St. Pius X Catholic Church or donor's choice.
