He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Huyber and Florence Huyber (Slade); and his sister Nancy Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Zorteau (Cindy); his daughters, Margo Oetliker (Peter) of Rochester and Amy Gardner (Jason) of Blaine; his grandchildren, Greta Oetliker, Will Gardner, Max Oetliker and Jake Gardner; and his brother John. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and many friends.
