He was predeceased by: his parents, Jens Thorson and Luvina Thorson (Walswick); his wife Janet "Jan" Margery Thorson (Westland); his parents-in-law, Thorvald and Valborg Westland (Selstad); and his sisters, Jennie Egaas, Eleanor Werness and Jeanette Navratil.
He is survived by: his children, Randy (Lynette) of South St, Scott of St. Paul, MN and Becky Thorson-Randall (Steve) of Neenah, WI; his grandchildren, Shane Thorson, Amber Monaghan (Nick), Benjamin Staebler, Katherine Reel (Josh), Josh and Grace Randall; and his great grandchildren, Wesley and Lorelei Reel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (1212 12th Ave NW, Rochester, MN 55901).
