He was predeceased by: his father David Mattson; his grandparents, Catherine, Leonard Jensen, Alice, Vernon Mattson, Walter and Cora Scharf; and his nephew Alex Anderson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa Mattson of Chicago, IL and Krista Mattson of Chatfield, MN; his granddaughters, Rosalie Conway and Kendall Cash; his mother Virginia Mattson of Rochester, MN; his siblings, Gayle (Jeff) and Rick (Jenny) Mattson; and his nieces and nephews, Megan Rasmussen, Colin Rasmussen, Lindsey Rasmussen, Jamie Anderson and Ryan Mattson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the River Park Chapel (1105 12th St SE, Rochester, MN 55904). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home (1105 12th St SE, Rochester, MN 55904).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Rochester MN Adult and Teen Challenge.
