She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel McConnell and Catherine McConnell (Marum); her husband John W. Nelson; her stepson William J. Nelson; her brothers, Jerome (Dorothy), Nic (Margaret), Jean (Katherine), Lawrence (Hazel), Fabian (Ethel), Sylvester "Red" (Charlotte) and Matt (Rita); her brother-in-law Paul Walsh; her sister Connie Walsh; and her sister-in-law Betty McConnell (Matt).
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Kathy Zinniel, Janet Starke (Bill) and Richard "Rick"; her stepdaughter-in-law Sally Nelson; her stepgrandsons, Jeff Soost (Kim) and Scott Soost (Stephanie); her great grandchildren, April Soost (Cole McDonough), Kendal, Toby and Reece Soost; and her great great grandchild Sage McDonough. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
