He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hammer and Elsie Hammer (Windhorst); his wife Louise Hammer; his daughter Marcia Nixon (Hammer); his sister Mariann Goslovich; and his close friend Marie Nepper.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Westlie (Steve) and Judy Johnson (Steve); his son-in-law Jamie Nixon; and his sisters, Katheryn, Glen and Marcia Oja. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Luke's Episcopal Church (1884 22nd St NW, Rochester, MN 55901).
