He was predeceased by : his parents, Jabez Smith and Zelda Smith (Sargent) of Pitt, MN.; and his sons-in-law, Jeff Skogstad (Bethel Smith), Randie Johnson and Jason LaValla.

He is survived by : his former life partner Lois Jean Franks; his children, David Smith (Dawn), Jerry Smith (LeAnn), Steven Smith and Tammy Wilmer (Dan); and his spouse Bethel Friesner. He is also survived by his children, twelve grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Pine Hill Cemetery (565 Pine St, Williams, MN 56686).
