Richard left this world on July 22, 2025 at the age of 88, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Erik Pedersen and Helen Pedersen (Dixon); his wife Agatha Norton; his son Linn; his parents-in-law, Milton and Stella Norton; his brother Paul; his siblings-in-law, Jackie Kahler, Elaine Stoen, Judy Bastin, Janice Neumann, John Norton, John Wendel, Kenny Kahler, Clifford Stoen, Maynard Hamor and Rick Bastin; and his nephew Daniel Pedersen.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Akkerman (Eric Kozak), Linda Howton (Jay) of Rose Creek, MN and Rick Pedersen (Marcia) of Austin, MN; his grandchildren, Erik (Sultanna), Joshua (Jessica), Lucas (Amy), Emily (Sam), Taylor (Brian), Jacob (Lindsey), Jae (Micah), Brooke (Jacob), Shelby and Katy (Stephen); his great grandchildren, Courtney, Isabelle, Mackenzie, Aria, Tova, Asa, Hayden, Marcus, Ian, Willow and Roman; his siblings, Don (Faye) and Lois (Paul); and his sisters-in-law, Barbara, Eudell and Jean.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary (209 2nd Ave NW, Austin, MN 55912). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given in Dick's memory to the Hormel Institute for cancer research.
