She was predeceased by: her daughter Hannah Beth Dieter; her parents, Howard McDowell and Marilyn Lou McDowell (Kealy); her siblings, Patrick McDowell and Maybeth; her brother-in-law Ron Olson; her parents-in-law, Van Dieter and Marlys Dieter; her brother-in-law Steve Newhouse; and her nephew Peder Van Newhouse.
She is survived by: her husband Dr. Michael V. Dieter; her children, Amy Harmon (Joel) of Maple Grove, MN, Katie Klatt of Roseau, MN., Ben Dieter (Sara) of Roseau, MN. and Margaret Dunham (Erik) of Roseau, MN.; and her siblings, Collette Zakovich (Richard) of Chisholm, MN, Margaret O'Neill (Bill), Megan Rathsack (Stephan) of White Plains, NY and Kevin (Megan).
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (402 11th Ave SE, Roseau, MN 56751).
