He was predeceased by: his parents, Gunnar Welin and Blenda Welin (Hattling); his siblings, Arthur Welin, Luverne Welin, Adeline Peterson, Grace Stenseth, Irene Moore, Donna Anderson, Roger Welin and Delores Welin; and his great grandchild Raegan Sather.
He is survived by: his wife Esther Anderson; his pet Lucy; his children, Gregg Welin (Rachel), Sue Vatnsdal (Scott) and Karen Brekke (Elton); his grandchildren, Sarah Sorensen (Christian), Stephanie Krumvieda (Waylon), Shannon Hayes (Nathan), Ben Vatnsdal (Heather), Joe Vatnsdal (Madison), Emily Allen (Andrew) and Jacob Brekke (Bethany Stoley); his great grandchildren, Callie, Nora, Sophie, Sawyer, Henson, Hyla, Jonas, Greta, Ingrid, Myles, Millie, Jolie, Tillie and Blaire; and his sister Shirley Lenius.
