She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Schmidt of Lakeville, Minnesota.; her brother Arlin Mills of Ellis; her brother-in-law Loyld James of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Christopher Ball and Terri McPherren; and her great grandchild Emily "Sami" Reynolds.
She is survived by: her sister Anita James of Wichita; her sister-in-law Wahnetta Mills of Manhattan; her niece Cheryl Ball (Vince) of Apple Valley; her great-niece Cindy Johnson (Gary) of Columbia; her granddaughters, Kim Kretschmer (Mark) of Hudson and Pam Reynolds (Doug) of Las Vegas; her stepchildren, Sue Schmidt of Richfield, Curt Schmidt (Heidi) of Hudson and Karen Shaw of Apple Valley; and her stepgrandchildren, Michaela, Natalie, Matt, Laura, Travis, Kali and Kelsey. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Well Church (14770 Canada Ave W, Rosemount, MN 55068). A burial will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mount Hope Cemetery (900 E 12th St, Ellis, KS 67637).
