He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Ahern and Cecilia Ahern; his wife Patricia; his sister Helen Bung (John); and his brother-in-law Thomas Bienapfl.

He is survived by : his children, Brian Ahern (Nancy), Tim Ahern (Baoqin Fan) and Shannon Ingvaldson (Dave); and his sister Patricia Bienapfl. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials will be donated to St. Joseph's Church.
