He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger McCann and Joan McCann; his sister Mina Swanson; and his brothers-in-law, Loren Swanson and Lew Danielson.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn; his children, Caitlin Nelson (Jacob), Brenden McCann (Bri), Meghan Gerardi (David) and Kalee Nerhus (Jacob); his grandchildren, Hendrix, Sawyer, Emery, Tucker, Paige, Theo and Clover; his siblings, Mickey Danielson and Kelly McCann (Mary Ann); and his cousins, Tim and Jeff Murphy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A prayer will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Klecatsky & Sons West Chapel (1051 S Robert St, St Paul, MN 55118). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church of Saint John Neumann (4030 Pilot Knob Rd, Eagan, MN 55122). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Saint James Catholic Cemetery (1527 Easter Ave, Clare, IA 50524).
