He was predeceased by: his former wife Angela I. Nelson; his wife Patricia B. Nelson; his son Dennis Nelson; his daughters-in-law, Sharon Nelson and Amy Nelson; and his granddaughter Brianna Jo Nelson.
He is survived by: his children, Wendy McCollor, Kris Blue and Dave Nelson (Melissa); his grandchildren, Cari, Jason (Jessie), Tim (Monica), Katie Jo (Mike), Alex (Cedar), Jeremy (Maddie), Brittany, Nikki (Dan), Lexi (Gino), Brandon, Ashley, Brayden and Ashlyn; and his great grandchildren, Emily Jo, Josie, Lizzy, Juno, Grace, Elsie, Jude, Noah and Boden. He is also survived by his four stepdaughters.
