He was predeceased by: his parents, Mathias Grilz and Mary Grilz (Tschida); his siblings, Marie, Kate, Margaret, Emma, Joe, Rich, Larry, Alfred, Ray and Don; and his son-in-law Buford Abeldt Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Jean Grilz of Roseville, MN; his children, Roxanne Schuler (Glenn) of Roseville, MN, Robert Grilz Jr. (Sandra) of Webster, WI, Elizabeth Childs (Steve) of Sunrise Township, MN and Jean Abeldt of McKinney, TX; and his brother Ed Grilz (Geri) of Maplewood, MN. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren;11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Spooner Funeral Home (306 Rusk St, Spooner, WI 54801). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
