He was predeceased by: his parents, William Whaley, and Jessie Whaley, Sr. (Zaccardi); his daughter Melissa Herrera; his sisters, Karen Whaley and Judy Heine; and his sister-in-law Sandy Adams.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Whaley of Rush City; his children, Dawn Hetherington of Rush City, Heidi Schafer (Brad) of Rush City, Erik Hetherington (Jamie) of New Port and Brent Hetherington of Richfield; his siblings, Bob Whaley (Rosalie) of West St and Kathleen Walker of Woodbury; and his brothers-in-law, Billy Heine of Eagan and Bill Ziemer (Terri). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Chapel (115 W 4th St, Rush City, MN 55069). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 13th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
