She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Weeda and Louise Weeda (Valk); her son Mark Hoftyzer; her sister Evelyn Herndon; and her brother-in-law Bud Beecher.

She is survived by: her husband Howard Hoftyzer of Rushmore; and her child Ryan Hoftyzer (Larissa) of Rushmore. She is also survived by many niece's and nephews.
