He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Herbst and Lucille Herbst (Dzuik); his sister Christine; and his brother-in-law LeRoy. He is survived by: his children, Bryan Herbst of St. Cloud and Jessica Kruschke (Keith) of Otsego; and his siblings, Kenneth Herbst (Diane) of Walker, Garret Herbst of St. Cloud, Elaine Potter of Anchorage, AK, Jean Seglem (Pat) of Brainerd, Linda Neuman (John) of Clear Lake, Cynthia Glazier of Sauk Rapids and Lynn Vouk (Dale) of Sauk Rapids. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
