He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Smith and Edna Smith (Heschke); his daughter Brenda; his sister Dorothy Everson; his son-in-law Shawn Narragon; and his parents-in-law, Morris and Hulda Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Johnson; and his children, Scott Smith (Stephanie) of Swift Falls, Brad Smith of Willmar, Janine Ellingson (Jon) of Swift Falls, Jennifer Collins (Todd) of Benson and Christina Narragon of Benson. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
