He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Lee Riley and Nina Edith Massey Riley; and his sister Charlotte Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Pat; his children, Meghan (Omar Syed) of Houston, TX, Patrick (Erin) of Wrenshall, MN and Caitlin (Ryan Bell) of Hendersonville, NC; and his grandchildren, Sofia, Gabriel Syed, Jack and Isabel Riley. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
