He was predeceased by: his parents, Sebastian Hartung and Frances Hartung (Young); his wife Eileen Dockendorf; his son Harold; his granddaughter Bridget Hartung; and his siblings, Anthony (Anna Marie), Edwin (Adeline), Stella Kasper (Andrew), Frank (Evangeline), Sister Eugenia and Leo (Catherine).
He is survived by: his children, Mary Kustermann (Ron) of St. Cloud, Diane Lambrecht (Kris) of Burnsville, Joan Braegelmann (Bob) of St. Cloud, Jim Hartung (Donna) of Rockville, Patty Funk (Vic) of St. Augusta and Lisa Freeman (Tom) of Sartell; his daughter-in-law Julianne Buttweiler (Tim) of Avon; and his close friend Ann Dockendorf. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren.
