He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Deters and Elnor Deters (Weisser); and his siblings, Telly Deters and Ken Deters. He is survived by : his wife Mary of St. Cloud; and his children, Shelly Thueringer (Mark) of Sauk Rapids, Scott Deters (Michaela) of Sauk Rapids, Lisa Deters of Colorado Springs, CO and Kris Deters of Sauk Rapids. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 9th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the Harvester Square (539 E St Germain St, St Cloud, MN 56304).
