He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Malmgren and Lucy Malmgren (Sandmeyer); his brother Leon; and his sister-in-law Monica Malmgren. He is survived by: his wife Marie Chalupa; his sons, Steve Malmgren (Carol) of Wheaton and Dan Malmgren (Leah) of Marine; his grandchildren, Jake Malmgren (Therese), Susannah Fessler (Ben), Lilyanne Malmgren, Corey Malmgren, Luke Malmgren and Rachel Malmgren; his great grandchildren, James Malmgren and Elenora Fessler; and his sisters, Janice Anderson (Bob) and Elaine Anderson (Mike). He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews.
The family prefers memorials be given to the Calvary Cemetery Association in Saint James.
