He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore "Ted" Holmquist and Erin Holmquist (Gustafson); his wife Charlotte Nelson; his brother Wayne Holmquist; his parents-in-law, Myrtle and Ervin Nelson; and his brothers-in-law, Russ Nelson, Gene Nelson and Jerry Nelson.
He is survived by: his children, Teresa Holmquist of Saint James and Craig Holmquist of Richfield; and his sisters-in-law, Judy Nelson and Roberta Nelson of Saint James. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many cousins.
In late 2020, he survived a near fatal battle with COVID-19.
