He was predeceased by: his parents, William Abeln (Bill) and Angeline Abeln (Angie Jonas); and his brother-in-law Michael McGee. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Thul; his children, Nicole of Willmar, MN and Josh of St. Joseph, MN; and his siblings, Jane McGee of Colfax, NC, Carol Kelash of Waverly, IA, Allen Abeln (Jean Bonfig) of Garrison, MN and Michael Abeln (Barbara Book) of Maple Grove, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. John the Baptist Parish Center. A prayer will be held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Quiet Oaks Hospice House (5537 Galaxy Rd, St Cloud, MN 56301).
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Quiet Oaks Hospice House.
