He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustav Birr and Marcella Birr (Kelm); his wife Leona Faye Birr (Ferrell); his son Dustin Birr; his mother-in-law Elma Ferrell; and his siblings, Paul Birr and Lois Notch.

He is survived by: his children, Darryll Birr (Nicole), Dawn Fiecke, Dayna Fuchs (Byron) and Daric Birr (Melissa); his grandchildren, Dustyn Birr (Rae), Paije Fiecke, Hunter Birr (Courtney), Paityn Fiecke, Aundreya Birr, Carter Fuchs, Riley Fuchs and Dalton Birr; his siblings, Duane Birr, Kenn Burr (Shirley), Ron Birr (Jo) and Joyce Wielenberg (Dave); and his brother-in-law Roger Notch Sr..

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (23845 Co Rd 40, Albany, MN 56307).
