He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril Grimes and Marian Grimes (McDonough); and his siblings, Charles (Chuck), Michael (Mike), James (Jim) and Patricia Grimes (Pat).

He is survived by: his wife Marie; his daughters, Theresa Flannery and Christina Boettcher; his son-in-law Brent Boettcher; and his grandchildren, Molly Flannery, Sophie Flannery, Anna Boettcher and Matthew Boettcher.
