She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerhard Rinas and Sophie Rinas; her husband Michael Sarne; her son Michael Donald; and her sisters, Isabel, Ella and Daniella.

She is survived by: her children, Angela Eberhardt and James Sarne (Sharon McFadden); and her granddaughters, Alyssa Eberhardt and Cassidy Eberhardt. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association.
