He was predeceased by : his parents, Melvin Henry Gelting and Janet Louise Gelting (DeMarre). He is survived by : his siblings, Veronica Gelting, Ann (Gelting), Schramm (Ken) and Nick Gelting; his nieces and nephews, Walter, Bernadette, Nicole (Ken) and Rico (Becca); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Joseph, Kiera, Luciano and Isaliya. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Simple Traditions (488 Humboldt Ave, St Paul, MN 55107). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Matthew's Catholic Church (510 Hall Ave, St Paul, MN 55107).
