He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Zafke and Rhoda Zafke; and his siblings, Earnest Zafke, Elaine Schmidt and Karen Olivarez.
He is survived by: his wife Susan; his sons, Gerald Jr., Joseph (Patricia) and Gregory (Fatima); and his sister Carol Sitters. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
