He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Steven Zobel Sr. and Jackie Zobel; and his aunt Mildred Cory. He is survived by: his wife Claire; his children, Shawn (Micki) and Natalie; his grandson Rudy; his siblings, MaryBeth (Brian), Mark (Kari) and Michael; and his nieces and nephews, Cory (Jennifer), Alex Hallman, Joey (Mary), Andy, Brett Zobel, Cora Spalding and Colton Constans.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
