He was predeceased by: his parents, Zaidee Brewer and Stanford; his wife Marilyn Brewer (Hinkley); his sisters, Barbara Cowles and Carol Rutledge; and his grandson Leon Huhn.
He is survived by: his children, Lee (Barb Brewer), Rod (Denise Pech) and Julie (George Huhn); and his grandchildren, Kimberly, Brian (Jessica), Alex, Erik and Max. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
Returning "Grandpa Mack" to the Atlantic Fire Department in Atlantic, Iowa, where the truck started its fire service, was among Leon's contributions to the preservation of historic fire apparatus.
