He was predeceased by: his parents, John Tee Woods and Mable Virginia Jenkins Woods of Kansas City, Kansas.; his grandparents, Leon, Elvira Jenkins and Megelle; his sisters, Johnnie Fouse (Kenneth), Willa Mae Dale (Bo) and Mary Hudson (Warren); his siblings' children, Carmen Fouse, Kim Matthews and Michael Dale; his parents-in-law, John Clarence and Lillie Hall Emanuel, Sr.; and his siblings-in-law, Baby John, John Clarence Emanuel, Jr., Billy Norman, Sr., LeVoie Thomas Emanuel, Daniel Hamilton, Alvin Wiltz, Bernadine Emanuel, Lulla Mae Emanuel Wiltz and Martha Emanuel Norman.
He is survived by: his pet Chip; his godchild Karissa Gibson; his wife Wanda Marie Emanuel-Woods; his children, Brian Woods, Daniel Woods (Sarah) and Susan Woods Cureton (Wesley); his grandchildren, Maya Woods, Aidan Cureton and Hanna Cureton; his nephews, Kenny Fouse (Lestine), Kevin Fouse (Ramona), Keith Fouse and Hewitt Bethel; his great-nephew Keenan Fouse (Neice Pamela Fouse); and his siblings-in-law, Delores Emanuel Hamilton, Leatha Williams Emanuel, Willie D. Emanuel and Henry O'Neal Emanuel (Carlise). He is also survived by God children, and a host of classmates, and countless friends and family.
