He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Rushton and Frances Rushton; and his brother Richard "Deke" Rushton. He is survived by: his sister Jane Rushton; his sister-in-law Susan Rushton; and his nephews, Michael Stoffel (Jill), Jesse Rushton (Jessica), Kelly Rushton (Lindsay) and Dustin Rushton (Amber). He is also survived by great-nieces and nephews, extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to be sent to Solvay Hospice House in Duluth.
