He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Benike and Lillian Benike; and his brother Wayne "Bud" Benike. He is survived by: his significant other Claire Williams; his sisters, Dianne Benike and Dawn Lang (Dave); his nieces, Jenny Smith (Eric), Krissy Sterling (Matthew), Becky Radecki (Ben) and Rachael Benike; and his sister-in-law Sue Gladen-Benike.

Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Humane Society.
