He was predeceased by : his wife Margaret "Peggy" Benson; and his sister-in-law Yvette Wenner. He is survived by : his parents, Merton Wenner and Margaret Wenner (Johnson); his children, Matthew Wenner (Breanna), Jason Wenner (Anna) and Amy Zempel (Eric); his grandchildren, Eli, Waylon, Charlotte and Ean; his siblings, Teresa Kienlen (Joe), Lisa Wenner, Ann Volk (Jeff), Brad Wenner (Dawn) and Doug Wenner (Nancy); and his nieces and nephews, David, Kevin, Sarah, Ben, Emily, Jordan, Taylor, Brianna, Bailey, Marian, Maria, Alberto, André, Charlotte and Alexandra. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family prefers memorials be given to the ALS Association, Minnesota Chapter.
