He was predeceased by : his parents, Alex Knapek and Johanna Knapek (Mastey); his siblings, Eugene, Francis Knapek, Bernadine Nicol (Bill), Phyllis Batt and Lorraine Kuklock (Dick); and his great grandchild Francis Aslakson.

He is survived by : his wife Rosemary Sufka of Sartell; his children, Linda Mackrell (Bill) of St. Cloud, Daniel Knapek (Cheryl) of Anoka and John Knapek (Michelle) of Mesa, AZ; his grandchildren, Melissa, Chad, Kelley, Lisa, Siressa and Derek; and his siblings-in-law, Bob Batt of California, Lorraine Knapek of Sartell and Donna Mae Knapek of Foley. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
