We are sad to announce that on November 15, 2025, at the age of 99, Rhienhold E. Axel of Sartell, Minnesota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, August Axel and Freada Axel (Koschnick); his wife Gerada "Gerry" Johnson; and his siblings, Hertha "Hattie" Barton (Richard), Emma Hanson (Roy), Amanda Fritz (Herman), Walter Axel (Doris), Frieda Kedrowski (Joseph), Erna Dickmann (Walter), August, Esther Barber (Ed), Lawrence Axel (Arvella), Edna Golombiecki (Jerome) and Donald Axel.
He is survived by: his children, Dennis Axel (Barbara) of Darby, MT and Judith Axel of Minneapolis; his granddaughter Lisa Axel (Shane Jessop) of Darby, MT; and his sister-in-law Virginia Axel of Long Prairie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Riverside Presbyterian Church (405 Riverside Ave N, Sartell, MN 56377). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Riverside Presbyterian Church.
