We are sad to announce that, on January 4, 2026, at the age of 94, Richard Schaefer of Sartell, Minnesota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard R. Schaefer and Hazel M. Schaefer (Hebert) of Albany, MN; his sister Carol Haight; and his son-in-law Kerry Garland. He is survived by: his close friend Geri Blais of Sartell; and his children, Laura Garland, Paula McCarthy (Patrick), Julie Toskey (Mark), Eden Prairie, Sue McNamara (Joe), Tom Schaefer (Maryann), Mary Schaefer of Ken Caryl, CO, Tim Schaefer of Santa Rosa, CA and Joy Harris (Tony) of La Jolla, CA.

Memorials are preferred to the Poor Clares Monastery, Sauk Rapids, MN, and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Sartell, MN.
