She was predeceased by : her parents, Joseph Toenies and Katherine Toenies (Bueckers); her former life partner Robert Fairchild; her daughter Dr. Deborah M. Kim; and her siblings, Alphonse (Anne), Jerome (Rita), Pauline Schmiesing (Ervin), Celine Zabinski (Claude), Jean Toenies and John Toenies.
She is survived by : her siblings, Sister Colette Toenies, Little Falls, Donald Toenies (Virginia) of Sauk Centre, JoAnn Deters (Bernard) of Osakis, Ralph Toenies (Sharon) of Mora, Harvey Toenies (Betty) of Mora and David Toenies (Shirley) of Mesa Arizona. She is also survived by her three daughters and one son; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Using the quilt tops she designed and sewed, her church group, St. George Quilts, created over one thousand quilts that were donated to charities and underprivileged people in the United States and abroad.
