We announce the death of Bernice Massmann of Sauk Centre, Minnesota, who passed away on August 29, 2026, at the age of 94. She was predeceased by: her husband Erwin Massmann; her parents, Ole Odegaard and Rose Odegaard; her siblings, Betty Von Wahlde, Rosalind Tabor and Victor Odegaard; and her grandson Kevin Athmann.
She is survived by: her children, Diane Athmann (Vern) of Sauk Centre, Butch Massmann (Donna Neal) of Sauk Centre and Donna Carlson (Eric) of Sauk Centre; her grandchildren, Kari Thompson (Darin), Sarah Athmann, Ashley Mergen (Brad), Austin Carlson, Brance Carlson and Cailynn Carlson (Jason Wiggins); her great grandchildren, Breanna Adelman (Isaac), McKenna Thompson, Hailey Thompson, Tanner Massmann, Kylie Athmann and Peyton Athmann; her great great grandchild Vincent Adelman; her brother Norbert Odegaard (Judy); and her sister-in-law Merina Odegard. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church (207 7th St S, Sauk Centre, MN 56378). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
