Mary left this world on October 11, 2025 at the age of 70, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Matthew Kangas and Beulah Kangas (Lyons); her children, Jessica Hernandez-Briseno, Matthew and Jose Briseno; her boyfriend Darren Benais; her brother Robert Kangas; her nephews, Francis Kangas, Jr. and Timothy McKee, Jr.; her children, Melissa Briseno (Alejandro) and Felix Briseno, Jr. (Andrea); her stepchildren, Sondra and Brandon Murray; her siblings, Matthew Kangas, Francis Kangas, Sr., Cheryl, Bernadine and Theresa Kangas; her grandchildren, Mariah Drouillard (Corey), Alexis Briseno, Danielle Canelo (James), Santos Canelo, Jose Briseno, Rosario Briseno (Ulyses), Avel Hernandez and Chanel Hernandez; and her great grandchildren, Landon, Talon, Louella Drouillard, Koda, Valorie, Violet Gray and Ulyses Briseno-Flores. She was also cherished by eight great grandchildren, other nieces and nephews.

A wake will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mission Community Center (2126 Finch Ln SE, Cass Lake, MN 56633). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
