He was predeceased by: his grandparents, John, Muriel Gans, Louis and Adelaide Kennedy; and his brother James.

He is survived by: his parents, James Gans and Cynthia Gans (Kennedy) of Rice; his wife Amy Bechtold of Sauk Rapids; his children, Beckett and Janey of Sauk Rapids; and his siblings, Paul (Ellen) of Edina, Peter (Heather Zabel) of Sauk Rapids and Maria Anderson (Derek) of Blaine. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (2875 10th Ave NE, Sauk Rapids, MN 56379). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers for the education of his children.
