He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean Salk (Zachman) and Dr. Richard Salk; and his brother Steven. He is survived by: his former wife Jeanine Kaiser; his children, Kateri Salk-Gundersen (Knute) of Durham, NC and Kyle Salk (Dana) of Boise, ID; and his siblings, James Salk (Mary), Cheryl Ellingson, Corrine Jacobs (Rob), Roberta Talley (Jim), Janet Salk (Tom Baumgartner), Mary K Scott (Joe), Michael Salk (Lisa), Lisa Ripka (Russel), Greg Salk (Brenda) and Susan Severson (Keith).

A public service will be planned at a future date, after the pandemic eases.
