He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis and Vera; and his wife Sandee. He is survived by: his children, Matthew Mattheisen (Mary), Kara Mattheisen and Maria Yates (Christian); his grandchildren, Shane Mattheisen (Odyssey), Emma Lenz (Storm), Meghan Baumgartner (Brock), William Mattheisen and Gabriella Mattheisen; his great grandchildren, Avelina, Malachi, Kidus, Vander and Nyden; and his sister-in-law Jackie Hoel (Terry). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Elim Lutheran Church (20971 Olinda Trail N, Scandia, MN 55073). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
