George Kern Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Kern of Sebeka, Minnesota, who passed away on May 15, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Kern and Ella Kern (Meller); his wife Irene; and his brother Dave Kern (Arlis). He is survived by: his sisters, Doris Budig (Dave) and Sharon Schwartz (Tom); his stepsons, Bryan Goraczkowski (Marsha) and Brent Goraczkowski (Jenny); and his nieces and nephews, Melissa, Brian, Becky, Jodi, Stephany, Deb, Doug, DeeDee, Derik, Dawn, Tina and Tyler. He is also survived by many other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A prayer will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Karvonen Funeral Home ~ Wadena (419 2nd St NE, Wadena, MN 56482). A rosary will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 6:45 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Hubert Catholic Church ~ Bluegrass (22008 Co Rd 23, Sebeka, MN 56477).
