He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mackenthun and Erna Mackenthun (Ehlen); and his siblings, Leonard Mackenthun, Cordelia Zaske, Reuben Mackenthun, Betty Mead, Gladys Peterson and John Mackenthun.

He is survived by: his wife Janet (Sellnow); his children, Julianne Crocker (Bill) of Shakopee, Sharon Sykora (Charlie) of Shakopee, Alan Mackenthun (Tok Hui) of Prior Lake, Brian Mackenthun (Shannon) of Victoria, Eileen Hoen (John) and Bruce Mackenthun (Bronwen) of Shakopee; his grandchildren, Kelly, Colton, Nicole (Phillip), Mackenzie, Carter, Benjamin, Gabrielle, Daniel, Annalise, Avery, Ethan, Amelia, Madison, Hannah, Emily, Izabela, Shiloh, Josephine and Corban; his great grandchild Wallace; and his sister Dolores Holtz. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
