He was predeceased by: his parent Greta Nyline (Ekberg); his brother-in-law Greg Hastings; and his nephew Paul Hastings. He is survived by: his wife Signie (Gilberg); his sister Connie Hastings (Nyline); his daughters, Kari Blomstrom (Carl) and Maria Asker (Carl); his grandchildren, Lauren Kishawy (Joseph), Henry Asker, Estelle Asker and Fredrik Asker; and his great grandchild Oliver Kishawy.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to Christmas in May (Chaska Rotary) or Loaves and Fishes MN.
