It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merlin H. Eichstadt of Shakopee, Minnesota, who passed away on December 8, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Eichstadt and Esther Eichstadt (Winkelman); his siblings, Dianne Ebeling and Melvin Eichstadt; his former wife Estrid Baldwin; his grandson Zachary Eichstadt; and his stepson Michael Hohenstein.
He is survived by: his wife Sue of Shakopee, MN; his children, Marcy Williams, Marli Haycock (Ken), Bernie Eichstadt (Julie Voight), Brad Eichstadt (Kim) and Blaine Eichstadt (Ranae); his stepchildren, Tim Hohenstein (Lori) and Shelley Gagne (Eric); his grandchildren, Brandi, MacKenzie, Alyssa (Marcy), Nathan, Ryan (Marli), Nicholas (Bernie), Alex, Ben (Brad), Erik, Jakob (Tim) of Kassie, TJ, Maddy, Regan, Joe (Shelley) and Jack (Michael); his brother Arvin Eichstadt (Shirley); Jerry Kozitza.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the N. Bud Grossman Center for Memory Research and Care, based at Merlin's alma mater, the University of Minnesota. Keep Merlin's legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
